Kertesz，Aの創出によるWestern Aphasia Battery（WAB）は、失語症検査に統計学的、数量分類学的手法を導入したものとして広く世界の関心をひいているが、それを基に多くの改良をおこなって、日本語版としたもの。
失語症患者のリハビリをすすめるための指標を与える。失語指数（AQ）と大脳皮質指数（CQ）が得られる。
